I'm to the point of replacing the floor boards in my 37 4dr. I had to make some new boards and I have the rubber seals. My question is does the inspection plate go over the floor boards or under. Seems that everything fits better with the inspection plate under the floor boards, but that seems bckwards. Mike

Mike, Not sure I understand what the "inspection plate" is. Attached is a pic of my 37 Fordor floorboards. gregg

I meant the cover over the transmission. Just called it an inspection plate, because you can inspect the under stuff. Thanks for the picture. Looks like you have to remove the floor boards to get this plate off, no matter what you call it. Thanks, Mike

Transmission cover goes in first and then the wood floorboards. The trans cover also has a seal where it mates to the steel floor pans and transmission tunnel.
