I have a NOS 42-48 front passenger track bar # 21A 3530 as illustrated in the Green book page 95,or so I thought. While cleaning it up for sale discovered a number on the curved end, raised numbers 21A 3545..The only number like that is on page 97 # A 3545 for a spring, control rod 28-31. So what do I have here? Could the Green book be wrong?

Ford assembles often have part numbers that are not in the parts books, since Ford only offered the complete assembly for sale.

OLD33, A photograph would be a great help.

Occasionally, parts that made up an assembly of sorts had part numbers cast upon them or stamped in to them.
One that comes to mind are axle housings. The cast "perch" part has a number cast upon it. That specific part (of the assembly) was never offered as a separate service part. Rather, it was welded to an axle housing and that "assembly" was offered.

If I recall correctly, the bar you have has a welded end on it. Might this welded end be the part that has the number cast upon it?
