I installed electric wipers and a converted radio. I want to power both after the ignition switch is turned on. Which contact is better; the coil side or the gauge side or does it matter? Thanks in advance for the responses.

If what you mean is that you want to power the wipers and radio through a stock ignition switch, that isn't a real good idea. Those switches can handle the current they were designed for and not much more. A separate switch or using the ignition switch to power a relay would be better.

never the coil side. I take it you have converted to 12 volt? if so the idea of a relay to turn on a fuse board is a good one, just used the gauge post for this
