While I was under the 1940 Ford today (changing the evil little rubber ball on the radius arm), I bumped the Parking Brake Cable Housing and heard a familiar rattle (a rattle I have heard for years but could never find until now). How is the cable housing supposed to be restrained in that area (where is passes through the frame? Is there a clamp or a grommet that should be there? As always, thank you all in advance!

There's a round grommet located on the "front" of the "X" member where the cable passes through. They are readily available from Carpenter and others. I might suggest you slit the grommet and work it in around the cable. Otherwise you'll need to remove the cable. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Mike, Thank you! There is no grommet in mine! That explains it-I will be ordering one shortly!
