My earlier post on a leak suggested a pin hole may be present in the pan. This is a Mercury with a 4 inch longer wheel base than a Ford. Will the addition clearance from the pan to tie rod allow me to remove the pan without raising the engine? Thanks Bill Large

Nope. Engine must be raised. A bit of a Segway Bill: After the one and only bad experience I had with a beautiful appearing pan (it had a tiny hole) I now fill every one with water and place over tissue for an entire night. R & R of the pan is a pain, especially on a fresh restoration. Mike "Kube" Kubarth This message was edited by kubes40 on 12-10-20 @ 6:16 AM
