	Hi Friends, Out of the barn, the first mechanic who worked on my '36 Ford removed the radio and then couldn't figure out how to reinstall it. This didn't bother me. The radio hadn't worked in 40 years and needed restoration. Also, I knew that, in time, I'd be taking the car for larger electrical work. So I had the radio restored. Then I took it to the auto electrician, but he can't figure it out either. I asked if he could install the dashboard dials, trace the rigid lines back and that would give a good idea where it goes. He said he already tried, but still can't figure it out. He asked if I had a manual. I do not. He asked if there was extra hardware. I don't know. Any suggestions? Thanks so much! John

I think that is a closed car radio, do you have the radio head and cables, that go in the dash,? on the side of the radio, it appears that it has the insert for the speaker plug ,and the speaker would be installed in the header, I think the open car radios had a speaker in the radio box, maybe a 36 FORD open car owner will add to this, hope this helps 37Ragtopman By the way you own a nice car, This message was edited by 37RAGTOPMAN on 10-1-20 @ 9:46 AM

	Yep... I have the head for the dash and cables. I would think that would tell pretty near where it goes, but they say they’re still not sure. I have the speaker too and they’ve remounted it on the right side under the glove box. Thanks for your help. I’ll definitely buy that manual. John

	The radio attached to the sloped part of the firewall above the steering column. If the holes aren't already drilled out for a previous installation, there are two distinct depressions in the firewall 11" apart, 2 5/8" down from where the slope begins. The radio is hung from two special T -shaped bolts the head of which hook on to the U-shaped brackets on the sides of the radio box. If you do not have those special bolts, Michael at third gne Automotive may have them available.

	You may want to purchase the Club 35-35 restoration book which can answer many questions as to what is correct.

	Garrison...A note of clarification. You have a closed car radio. Your open car should have a radio with integral speaker as shown in the enclosed photos. The first is a 35/early 36 open radio. The forth is a mid to late 36 open. I am also including a picture of the correct mounting hardware and a page from the installation manual.
