My '40 coupe needs a new radiator. Can anyone recommend a QUALITY BRAND or place to buy a good replacement? I do not want to get an aluminum radiator as I have been told they don't last very long and are a lot of trouble. Thanks!

Have the original radiator re-cored by a competent radiator shop. This will be expensive but most likely give you the best result for the money spent.

I have Walker radiators in my '32 and '46 Fords and haven't any issues. Copper/Brass construction and fit like Henry built them. As far as the cost, you get what you pay for.

I have all of mine re-cored locally. In the past five years, six of them... The fellow installs Walker cores, split type as authentic. Once he has the radiator disassembled, I take the tanks home and bump and file them until darn near perfect. Bring em back and he solders them to the new cores. With tax, $500 +/-. I've heard less than stellar comments in regard to the reproduction radiators from Drake. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

You might take as look at US Radiator. They have the copper/brass radiators and were less expensive than Walker. My neighbor used one in his '53 Ford and it appeared to be a quality piece. Depending on where you live Beko Radiator in Concord, Ca. can recore your old one. They do excellent work. This message was edited by trjford8 on 6-27-20 @ 7:29 AM

Running a Brassworks in my '39 p/u with an 8ba. Not cheap but excellent quality. Lee worked with me to make sure a 4 row would fit and built it with straight top outlets since I've got an 8ba not the original '39 engine. Worth a phone call IMO. (805) 239-2501

Add your general location too your profile in case someone knows a nearby radiator shop. Also ask at local EFV8 clubs for local shops. Charlie Stephens
