Topic: "H" on crossmember

On another site, someone is asking about the letter "H" stamped on the X member of his car. It's unclear from his wording what year he is asking about but from the discussion, it is ether a 1940 or 1941-'48 Ford passenger car. Someone stated that the "H" signifies an optional, "heavy frame". I never heard of a "heavy frame", option. Any thoughts?
