  Any recommendations for a metal polishing shop on Long Island NY, looking to have my 37 inlet manifold mirror polished.

  I agree with Ragtop. We use a variety of items from Eastwood. They include several buffing wheels of varying type, ranging from coarse to remove the crud from the surface, down to a very soft wheel for final buffing. Each step requires the proper compound, also from Eastwood. Their gmail is www.eastwood.com, or call 1-800-345-1178. When buffing or polishing, use heavy gloves for safety, and go slow, particularly on thin trim pieces. Pushing too hard can cause the wheel to twist the trim. Most old Ford trim is stainless, and can be repaired by removing any dinging any dents, then filing the place smooth before buffing. We use a drill press to spin the wheels at various appropriate speeds while standing.
