Topic: 47 ford car upper column bearing assembly

Here I am again trying to piece together a car missing pieces and old diagrams not clear enough to figure it out. My car has a upper column bearing the presses in to the outer steering column. Does it go in with the cup of the outer race pointing toward the steering box or does it go in with the cup of the outer race pointing toward the steering wheel? the Sheetmetal race is a no brainer to figure out. The flat flange end goes toward the steering wheel and a spring puts pressure on it to load the bearing. Please look at the attached photos and please reply which one is the correct way to go in the column. I think it is the second picture with the cup toward the steering wheel. Thanks in advance for the replies.

The cup points toward the steering wheel.
