Anybody know just how far their throwout brng. moves from at rest, (in contact with trans), to contact with the fingers. Now this is without any outside the trans connections. This one is a 46 using original 4 speed from 3/4 ton pu.

Typically this is measured at the clutch pedal after complete assembly of all the linkage, pedal return spring and pedal against its bumper. There should be approximately 1" of pedal free travel before the throwout touches the clutch fingers.

The T/O bearing normally sits about 1/16" to 1/8" from the fingers of the clutch cover when not in use.
