A friend of mine has a 1948 Ford F-1 with the stock Ford Holley 94 Carburetor. The truck sits idle for long periods of time and refuses to start and run when he wants to drive it. It has a rubber (Viton?) disc for a needle and seat in the carburetor which sticks to the seat and stops fuel from flowing into the float bowl. He wants to install a Grose Jet assembly with it's all metal construction. This check ball design will be impervious to the effects of modern gasohol fuels which can cause problems with Viton or rubber tipped needles. We have three questions: has anyone had success using a Grose Jet in a Holley 94 Carburetor, what setting do you use for the float level, and where can you buy a Grose Jet assembly that fits the Holley 94 Carburetor without modification? Help answering any of these questions would be greatly appreciated.

I have found the Groose Jet to stick CLOSED. I would not install one. Instead, seek out a NOS needle and seat. They are readily available. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

I had trouble with Grose jets sticking closed also. Went back to needle and seat.
