Topic: ‘37 radio receiver location

I’m new to flatheads with a recently purchased ‘37 Coupe. I can’t find a radio receiver under the dash and am wondering where it should be located.

First, there should be a radio dial in the middle of the dashboard with two knobs, one on each side of the dial. Then there should be a large black box directly under the dashboard attached to the firewall.

I would suggest that you also take the time to order the Club's 1937 Ford Book, available from the Online Store (menu to the left). It will assist you with much information about your vehicle and what was standard equipment and what was considered accessories (such as a radio).
And, welcome to the wonderful world of 1932 to 1953 Ford Motor Company products.

  ken,
you'd find it if it was there. it sits right above the steering column. to see the most common one, scroll down this page.

I can fix you up with one [that works] and a dial/head. just let me know.

I dug through the parts that came with the car and found a receiver. A note attached indicates it is missing a buffet capacitor. I also looked under the dash, above the steering column but have it located mounting bolts. The ‘37 book is ordered and should be on the way. Hopefully it will answer my question. Thanks for the information!
