Does anyone know where I can get a 6 volt, 2 speed blower motor (heating system) for a 1951 Ford Victoria ? All I'm able to find is generic single speed motors. Thanks. Rick

hi 51 Ford you should have a 2 speed switch, or a variable switch using resisters , in the dash check your heater switch to see what you have, what wrong with your motor, it may only need freeing up, stuck from sitting,? I think all heater blower motors are controlled by a switch, my 2 cents 37RAGTOMAN post a photos of your blower motor

Hi 37RAGTOPMAN, When I got my car, the person that I bought it from had a working 2 speed,12 volt motor installed. ????? My car is still 6 volt and I have no plans of changing it to 12 volts. The car has a working 2 speed switch, so I now need a working 2 speed 6 volt motor to put in place of the 12 volt one that should not have been there. If I cannot locate a 2 speed motor, I may have to use a generic single speed motor and create a second speed using a resistor. Thanks for trying to help. Regards, Rick

Some generator shops will also do it. 37ragtopman, the 1951 Ford has a 3 lead 2-speed motor that uses a change in field strength to control the speed of the motor, not the resister type used from the 1930's to the 1950's. hi 1951 Victoria what I found in a original FORD parts book [ July 1950 ] is the switch should have a according to the book it says, part # OA 18578-D switch with bulb -rheostat type and the photo of the blower motor only shows to wires coming out of it, so I assume one is the hot wire and the other is a ground, if blower motor runs back ward, reverse the wires it is a DC motor hope this helps 37 Ragtopman

Hi, Thanks for the help. I finally settled for a single speed generic motor. When coupled with a switch from a '49 or '50 car that has a built in resistor allows for the second or low speed. Thanks, Rick
