My restored 1953 Sunliner does not have any rubber gaskets on either side of the front hood either on the inner fenders or the hood itself. There is a gasket along the firewall at the rear edge. When I wash the car some water runs down the inner fenders, onto the voltage regulator. Should there be gaskets along the edge? Does anybody have a pic? Thanks!

I'm no expert on '53 Fords, but to my knowledge there is only a seal at he back of the hood. There are only rubber bumpers at the sides and the front. Your voltage regulator has a seal in the lid that should stop water from getting inside.
