Topic: Rear Seat

My 48 coupe rear bottom seat bench does not want to install, is there a method that I am missing, I don't want to break something, it was out of the car for over a year.
Thanks

Assuming your seat is comparable to my '46 Deluxe Coupe, there are two pieces (tabs) that protrude down about an inch or so, at the front of the seat frame. To install, you have to push the seat bottom back far enough and push it down to hook the two tabs behind the seat support. I tried it myself and couldn't get it hooked until I got help. We succeeded with two of us pushing back on both ends of the seat.

If it is like most of the Ford back seats that I have encountered, you have to make sure that the rear section of the seat bottom cushion is positioned below the backrest cushion and then push the bottom cushion back as hard as you can. There are a couple of retainers mounted to the floor of the car that hold the bottom cushion in place once you have it in the proper position.

Put your back against it and push as hard as you can and then some.
