  What was the first year Ford put a turn signal switch on the steering column?

  1949 model on ford cars maybe earlier on Lincoln.

  In 1949-1951, it was a added on item that clipped to the column.
By 1953 they were as we now know of them, incorporated into the actual steering column.

  Factory installed turn signals were an option with the 1942 Mercury.
