Topic: Classic Car Transport Companies

I'm looking for advice on transport for our type of vehicles. I have acquired 2 "new" members to my antique Ford family and have been considering ways to transport them home. One is a '48 convertible, the other is a '33 Model B Pickup. The convertible has a large hole in it's rotten top and neither of them currently runs. It will be 350 miles from point A (in Ohio) to point B (Tennessee). My first thought was to rent a U-haul car trailer and haul them back, one at a time, behind my pickup, but I'm picturing wind at freeway speeds catching the hole in the canvas top, sending it's remains off behind me, with potentially very bad results. Plus my truck is currently out of commission for the foreseeable future.

I found one company, United Routes LLC, who specializes in classic and exotic cars. They quoted me around $2000 to load and deliver both vehicles, fully insured in an enclosed trailer. I was wondering if anybody here was familiar with this company and I would welcome suggestions as to others that are out there and, for that matter, is $2000 a reasonable price for the job?

Check over on the Fordbarn. There's a guy over there who is called Truly Vintage and he transports cars all the time. I think he is fairly reasonable. www.fordbarn.com

There are 6 Transport Companys on our site under Links - Vendors that say they will offer discounts to EFV-8C members.
They say they are willing to offer quotes.
