Designated by the Early Ford V-8 Club for the 3rd Saturday in June. Get your Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Ford Truck, or Ford Tractor out and about. Drive alone or with a group, but hit the road and have an enjoyable day. Photos are always welcome from your day out with your Ford V-8. Don't forget to bring some membership forms along for prospective members you meet along the way.

I am eager to get out today for my first Drive your V-8 Day. Last year my '39 was still in the shop. This year just waiting on the weather to dry out here in St. Paul, MN.

I drove one of my Ford V8's about 32 miles yesterday for the "Drive You Ford V8 Day". Up to Highlands NC for "Butt's on the Bench", the local Saturday morning event. Saw a 35 Ford Fordor headed to Franklin, NC for the Taste of Scotland event and a 36 Tudor sitting in a garage being ignored. Great weather for a drive. Picture below was a Bridal Falls. (The road use to go behind the falls until 30 tons of rock came down.)

1934 Ford's since 1972

About 15 members of Northern Illinois RG#8 drove 60 miles to Rockford in 7 Early V-8s (and other cars) where we met with a larger group form Rockford RG#105, who brought quite a few Early Fords - didn't catch the total number. Two members from Badger State RG#35 also joined us. There was an 80% chance of rain all day, but we pretty much stayed dry.

Ten members of the Twin Cities Regional Group #46 participated in what I call 'a feel good car show'. We showed our vehicles at the Bendictine Health Care Center in New Brighton. The residents had a great time viewing and telling us about when they owned a car like that.
The Center treated all to root beer floats and after two hours we cruised the back roads of New Brighton, Shoreview, Lino Lakes and White Bear Lake ending up were all good V-8'ers do --- at a restaurant.

Drove my 36 coupe to the Triumphant life Church in Eatontown,N.J.,that was having a benefit car show for St. Jude's Children's Hospital . I parked next to a real nice 49 sedan, the only other flat head V8 there. By the way,There was a Model T depot hack and an original unrestored 1911 Cadillac there as well and both these cars got more attention than the cars from the late 50's on up,also both the owners were 20 years or more younger than me!

I reply to one specific post, and the site put my reply at the bottom of all the posts? Huh?

The NIRG had 8 V-8 Club cars and the Rockford group had 4, not including the hot rods. Here are some photos of the cars.

I took my grandson to Sandheez Drive Inn on the regular noon to 2 PM Friday before Drive your V-8 Day on Saturday. He got to see a beautifully restored 1939 convertible or cabriolet with it's rumble seat open. There was also a 1951 Ford hardtop with it's engine compartment open that drove away before we left and let us hear the moody throatiness of it's duals turning left onto RM 620. My V-8 was modified in 1956 so it doesn't qualify nor does the restoration in a 3D model I made to remember the engine removed and all the unknowns in it. I didn't meet those owners but my grandson and I did talk to the owner of a 1954 MG-TD. He was looking for someone to take over his effort. "How about him? I asked, pointing to my grandson, who is 9 and grew up with his generation on Lightning McQueen.
