hi there, could somebody tell me the spline count on my 1946 mercury 8 sedan's pinion, i believe it's either 6 or 10. i'm considering purchasing a ring @ pinion kit with a lower ratio to get better cruising without the motor revving too high, cheers murray. cheers murray

There are available adapters to bridge the gap between the early and late splines. C&G sells them, along with the required coupler pin.
