Can anybody tell me the length of a new push rod, and the worn length that makes one no good? IE the tolerance allowed before it's bad? Regards, Steve Lee

Steve as a general rule the pushrod travel is about 1/4". A worn pushrod would show up as low fuel delivery, but you would get a small amount of fuel on each stroke. If you do the fuel delivery test that I have recommended several times, it would show up a worn pushrod. Tom

HI the fuel pump rod should measure 8.87 INCH with cast iron intake, there is also a brass bushing in the engine, for guiding the push rod, see if there is any side movement, slop in the push rod, hope this helps 37RAGTOPMAN
