Topic: ventilator window regulator

Trying to fix the rear window regulator issues on my 37 two door. These windows have the ventilator feature; when in the up position the window will slide back horizontally a few inches. I'm trying to understand how it all works so I can see what all is missing or not functioning. I need help understanding what makes the window go forward into normal position from the ventilator-open position.

I can see how the regulator pushes the window glass to the rear to open the ventilator:
The regulator has two rollers that slide along the glass channel. At the point where the glass is fully up, the front roller hits a stud in the glass channel. Cranking further against the stud pushes the glass to the rear. (this stud is non-existent on my car; luckily I see a reproduction available in the Bob Drake catalog)

But I don't see anything to move the glass forward again. Seems like reverse cranking will just slide the rollers along the glass channel away from the stud, will not move the glass. What makes the glass move forward? Can anyone help me understand this?

Maybe the attached explanation will help.

Yes! That does explain it well. Exactly what I needed to see.

To return the ventilator window to the normal position, the regulator has a big cam that pushes against a pin on a lower extension of the glass channel. That pin is also missing from my car. Now that I understand it better, I believe that pin is probably the piece reproduced by Bob Drake. And for my other missing stud/stop in the glass channel, I think I should be able to improvise something with a large-head screw.

Thanks so much! Saved me a lot of head-scratching.
