How tight do you make the spring bolt on 1936? What gauge safety wire do I use for the bolts?

I just did mine on my 1936 pickup. I snugged down the bolts, till i could see that they were completely through the cage nuts. I used wire that is available at a local hardware store. The two bolts on one side are wired to each other. The side with the spring is wired through the frame -- look for a slight bend in the frame and that is where the wire goes around and then back through the bolt head. (thanks Don Rogers) Hope this helps.

Bob56, Be sure you allow the spring some "room" for it to do its job. In other words, do not bind the coils. Both sides of the frame have a "bump out" and as such, both sides should be wired through them. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
