Sometimes engines need a few heat & cold cycles. Parts have to get use to each other. Don't baby it , it needs a load, like the old school found in any book- give it the boot let of the gas that sucks oil up in cylinders and do it again. I think its too early 400 mi to worry about adjusting valves.

If it is a sticky valve, I doubt that readjustment will make any difference.

A little more information needed. Does it have adjustable lifters? If not just drive it some more and see if it goes away.

Thanks everyone. It has adj. lifters, and as i said it just quieted up . That's why i wonder if new valves and guides would stick when i'm using high quality oil. Time for M M O i guess. m

I would try Mobil 1 synthetic oil first. It will lubricate better than the Racing oil. The synthetic oil gets into places that the dinosaur oil doesn't. Tom
