Can anyone recommend a repair service for the Ford radio I have taken out of my '48 Ford Super Deluxe Club Coupe?

Best regards, Mickey Holton

  Mickey---

I'm not sure what part of the country you live in. If close to the West Coast, check with Bob's TV and Radio Repairs - (805) 499-8200. They are in Southern California, near Pismo Beach.

I'd give them a call 1st and kick around exactly what you want /need on your radio. They should be able to help you. I had the radio in my 40 restored there and they did a fine job.

Good Luck.

Look in the V8 TIMES. I had my radio in the '47 converted to AM/FM years ago. It looks the same as stock, but the FM band does away with spark noise, etc, that plagues the AM band, not to mention music that isn't for most of us old guys, and prattling DJ's.

Try classicautoelectric.com out of McPherson Ks. Converted my '47 to AM/FM and a connection for my iPod. WonderBar works as normal AND the radio weighs about half what it did. About a 1-2 month turn around, name is Joe Dickhudt and has an ad in the V8 Times. He also did my clock. Both are 6V. Would use him again. Oh, the FM tuning will be guesswork as the original tuner shows just the AM frequencies.
