I had a guy redo the brakes on my 32. The car was not running due to timing and other issues. Brakes worked when we loaded it on trailer but only emergency brakes worked unloading. I assume several applications of the brakes seated them and the rods need to be readjusted? How do you tell how far to adjust them?

Jim, I suggest that you obtain a reprint copy of the 1932 Service Bulletins, which while they may be out of print, show up nearly weekly on ebay for under $20. There is section therein devoted to the complete adjustment of the brake system, including the critical positioning of the cross shaft, not just the rods. There's lots of other useful information in the Bulletins as well and you'll find that they are worth countless multiples of their cost. Dave

I'll have to gingerly look at the original I got from Ron. I have the CD, but no longer havae a PC with a cd.... go figure..... have to get one from Amazon

Jim, Try your local library for a computer with a CD drive. Maybe you can copy from the CD to a flash drive (I assume your computer has one), if not at least you can read it and take notes. Charlie Stephens
