Afternoon gents I’m trying to remove the field coils on the generator housing, what would be the best tool to do so? Thanks -Keith

Try taking it to an auto electric shop that's been around for a while. They may have the special tools for this. Sometimes you can take a sharp chisel and turn the countersunk bolt by tapping the screw slot.

How about a picture, is it a standard screw or a square countersunk? The last time I saw it done in a shop they used a V block to hold the generator on a drill press table. They put the tool into the chuck so they could hold it down firmly. I don't remember if the tool was a cut off screwdriver or a piece of square stock. I don't remember if the tool had a handle to turn or they just turned the tool with a wrench. Charlie Stephens. This message was edited by CharlieStephens on 7-10-18 @ 10:47 PM
