I disconnected the fuel line that connects directly into the carburetor. I do not have a visible flow of gas. When I turn the engine over. Nevertheless the car runs like a top when I connect the line and turn the ignition on. Shouldn’t there be fuel flow when line is disconnected????

It sounds to me like you have an electric fuel pump powered through the ignition. Alan
