If you can't find any original parking light housings, you may have to use aftermarket reproduction parking light assemblies. MAC's has them available for 1947-48 Fords as part number 6A-13200. These take 12V dual filament bulbs. If you have the original 6V electrical system, you will have to use 6V dual filament tail/stop light bulbs. This will allow you to use turn signals and hazard flashers without having to mount additional external lights on the front of the car. MAC's toll free phone no. is 877-230-9680.

The wiring looks like it is 12 volt only. Do not use it with 6 volt halogen bulbs, the wires cannot handle the extra current. The wires can probably handle short use cycles with 6 volt bulbs, but the bulbs will not develop full brightness.

If your car is 6 volt, you should convert the housings to 6 volt by ordering the parking light socket and wires for cars with turn signals. The other option is to use LED bulbs.
