Topic: Oil pressure

I’ve just done an oil change on my 1950 Ford v8 pilot (21 stud). Was using penrite Classic 20 50 but have changed to castrol 20 50. No problems when I fired it up. Ran at 15 psi idle and 30psi with revving. But after a good run of 30 miles and hot this has dropped to less than 10psi at idle and 20psi at full revs. I’m sure it held pressure better when hot before the oil change. Should I be worried.

My personal opinion is no. I use Castrol 20-50 and also and have about the same results. This is in a 286 CI full race 8-BA. Been driving it for several years that way. I've been told by other flathead enthusiasts that it's more about oil flow volume than pressure.
