I"m ready to install my rebuilt fuel pump on my 239,should the fuel pump push rod be in the down position,or does it matter.Johna

It is easier with the rod in the lowest position. You will have to push down against the pump spring to install the bolts if it is in the up position.

Rod only moves up an down .200" or so, so it isn't much,you still have to push down on the pump to catch the bolts. ken ct

I remove the pump stand and install the pump before replacing the stand and pump assembly. It saves time and effort. Rod position isn't important as long as you get it in the cup on the pump arm.
