'37 Ford 78 V8 85 I was looking around online and saw a distributor rebuiler that offers a modification that improves the timing adavance on pre-1941 Flathead Distributors. I have not used his service, but installing the 41 advance mechanism in an earlier distributor is a good idea. Tom

Very easy to do when you have all the correct parts from a 11-A dist. ken ct. cam and shaft $ 15 // rotating plate w/weights $ 15 // point plate (use existing one need NOT change) . I think that's all that's needed,havent done one in many mths. ken ct.

You can simply install a 1941 Distributor on your 1937 engine. It fits without modification and looks stock.

Yes it would,37 dist and 41 dist are the same unit including coil is same one. except the 11-A parts are inside the unit and outwardly look the same as a 37 including the coil setup. Unless you have something diff on there. That would be the easyist way to go. ken ct.

My bad..., I was visualizing a 1942 Dist. I'm brand new to the early Ford V8's and am learning as I go! Thanks Guys!
