What color is today's gas tank sealer? I sealed a tank many years ago and the sealer was bright yellow. Just purchased a good tank and looking inside I see a burgandy color. Appreciate your response.

I guess it depends on the manufacturer, I did a motorcycle tank and the coating was white. Greg This message was edited by Greg58 on 10-10-17 @ 5:29 PM

Caswell sells red, blue and black gas tank sealer. Hirsch sell a white sealer. RedKote is also red. Tom

Thanks for the replies. Guess there is some form of sealer in the tank then. Off to the radiator shop to clean it out.

If it is RedKote, it is resistant to the ethanol in today's gas and if it looks in good condition, I would leave it. Tom
