On my '48 tudor am ready to attach torque tube to banjo. Should it be assembled with a dry gasket or with some kind of sealer? What about the gaskets up front at the U joint?

I would use #2 permatex or a silacone sealer,on the back,
up front, they are a little harder to install, but just take your time, and just use a little sealer just enough to do the job,,they are hard to control to put into placement,
hope this helps, 37RAGTOPMAN
MAKE SURE TO ADD THE LUBE IN THE BACK,and U JOINT !!!!!!!!

We usually use a spray-on sealer on flat gaskets. The real trick on the front of the torque tube is keeping the cork strips in place as you reassemble the cover. Heavy grease or a product such as RTV silicone will help, but don't reduce the length, as this will cause leakage. On the later cars, such as your '48, it is common to flip the cover over so the grease fitting is on the top, making accessibility easier because if placed downward, the fitting is usually obscured between the mount and the crossmember. Greasing does require lifting the floorboard, but if you fill the u-joint housing with at least two 14 ounce tubes of grease, such as Mystik JT-6, you only have to add more about once a year with normal driving.
