I am trying to install a set of fenton headers on my 49 ford flat head engine and can not get the bolts in on the drivers side, to tight. do I have to lift engine out or is there another way.

The front bolts are 7/16 and the rest are 3/8. If you are using 3/8 in the front holes that is probably the reason they will not tighten down.

And I was wondering why my 3/8" bolts weren't tightening at the front ports! Thanks for the info. 36 Roadster brion@cbkidder.com

check the depth of the holes in the block so you do not try to install bolts that are too long. Damage can be done to the block
