i am putting the bypass oil filter canister on my 59 a and was wondering if it goes on the front of the head or rear of the head or if it makes a difference. thanks.

They mount toward the front on the driver's side. This makes changing the filter cartridge easier. Be sure to check to see if the output line has a restrictor in place. Otherwise the oil pressure will be affected'

thanks supereal. yes i have the fitting with the small orfice in it. i thought that went into the input side of the filter ?

I think Super meant the engine output line, leading to the filter input. A restrictor on the filter output would theoretically equalize pressure within the housing, nullifying flow through. Alan
