I found a nice Ford 60 engine. What's involved in putting it in a 1930 A coupe?

Probably the biggest thing is accepting the fact that it is only 136 cubic inches will not produce as much power as a Model A or Model B engine (200 cubic inches) with similar equipment due to it's small displacement. On top of that the speed equipment is more available for the Model A and B engines while V8 60 speed equipment is rare and expensive. All of the V8 flatheads have the same challenges when being installed into a Model A. The brake and clutch pedals mount to the bell housing on a Model A but a bracket must be fabricated if a V8 transmission is used (don't try to use the Model A transmission). It is also necessary to fabricate a mount for the wishbone and front motor mounts. The radiator must be reworked for a V8. If anything I would recommend using an V8 85 engine (either 21 or 24 studs). Another factor is that the car would be worth more with a V8 85 and the amount of work to install it is the same. You would probably have better luck asking this question on HAMB, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/ My advice would be to pass on the V8 60 engine.
