Hello, I remember reading somewhere that the escutcheon on the exterior door handles (for a 1937)is chrome plated, whereas the handle itself is polished stainless steel. Is this correct? I am having mine redone and as you know, it takes some work to remove the escutcheon and re-install it after chroming! Thanks, Gregg

I have actually seen the escutcheon be stainless also. I think it depended on the supplier. Most handles have the escutcheon made from stamped brass that is chrome plated.

Thanks for that, much appreciated information. I will go with the chrome plated escutcheon to be inline with "most" cars. Gregg
