Does anyone know if the '53 sychro 4 speed truck transmissions has a 10 spline output shaft or what transmission does?

Thanks,
Fred

Consult any truck "power train" shop in your area. They will know, if you can locate any manufacturer or model number on the transmission. Ford used a number of vendors, such as Dana, New Process, and others, depending upon the order of the dealer. If you are mating a transmission to a drive shaft, yokes are available to modify the piece.

Usually, a driveshaft has to be made up for the application. We use a long bed lathe with a steady rest to make up the tube, and to weld the ends, so it takes a machine shop with the right equipment to do it. We lengthen and shorten truck chassis, which requires a change in the drive live. Look for a big truck shop in your area if there is no machine shop.

The only 4 speed for 53 is the T-98, has a case marking of 4TE on it. Part number of the output shaft is B9C 7061-D, it lists it as 14-43/64 inches long and has 10-10-10 straight splines.
