Topic: Wiring problem.

After replacing the fuel and temp. guage under the dash of my 37, I disconnected (accidentally) several wires. One to the starter button one to the left post turn signal.
I have tried many combinations trying to reconnet them. The push starter buton does not fire up the engine.
The wires I have are:
- Yellow/black tracer, Two into one, male connector
- Black, female
- Green/white, tracer, male
- Off the left lamp turn signal two wires, a red and
yellow wire.
The electrical diagram shows a black wire to the starter bttn.
I know how lame this sounds, but are there any suggestions?

Look at your starter solenoid. The wire going to the small terminal in the center is the one going to the starter button.

The Yellow/ Black wire is the main feed to your electrical system and your connection should be to another Yellow / Black wire or to the yellow wire.

The green wire may be your turn signal wire.

Your harness may not use the same wires as the stock setup if your have turn-signal wires in the harness.

I'm attaching a wiring diagram. The starter button connects directly to the small terminal on the solenoid, and furnishes ground when pushed. The original buttons depend on a connection between the button and the dash for the ground, while some aftermarket buttons have two terminals, and one must be grounded for the button to work. If your solenoid has two small terminals, one connects to the button, the other to the battery side of the solenoid. These are "universal" replacements, while the originals have the battery connection internally.

  Thanks for the help.
I'll give it a shot.
