'42 4 spead trans rear bearing is shot. Is there an easy way to replace it without pulling engine and trans ? Truck is a '42 COE.

The transmission will have to come out, as the bearing is pressed on the shaft. If you plan to do it yourself, the best manual is the 39-48 book. C&G sells it as V-222, about $50. Ford didn't produce a shop manual, preferring "service bulletins" instead. The 39-48 book was produced in Canada, and is the most complete we have seen.
