is it possible to remove the fuel tank without removing pickup box?

On a 1940 Ford Tudor Sedan I once owned, it was possible to remove the fuel tank without removing the body. Since the tank has a lip that is located above the frame rails, you have to move the tank from side to side to get the lip to pass under the frame.
