I'm trying to identify a Ford truck model for which I have a vehicle registration form issued in German-occupied Poland in 1943. The Vehicle ID number is "14700 174" (with space), engine is 3200 cc (3.2 liters), truck weight is 1640 kg. (about 3200 lbs.) and I think was probably produced by Ford-Werke in Cologne, Germany. Is there anywhere I can look up this information?

You might try getting in touch with Camaronisse on the FTE His posting about his 1940 Ford 1 1/2 ton that was acquired by the Nazi's in Norway has some historical info/documents. The thread is long but very interesting. IMO https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1607407-my-long-lasting-40-project.html ______________ No signature

Thanks for the link to the story -- it's interesting -- nice '61 Caddy in the pictures -- I once put a new interior in a '61 Coupe de Ville. I think the truck I'm trying to trace was a small one the size of a pick-up or what they used to call a panel truck or panel delivery way back then, since it weighs only about 3600 lbs. (sorry, not 3200 as in original post). The serial number doesn't look like any other type I've been able to find online, leading me think the truck was made in Germany -- Ford also had plants in Britain and France. The truck belonged to a ceramics manufacturing company owned by Heinrich Himmler personally, which is why the truck didn't get confiscated by the Third Reich as they did with all other vehicles they could get their hands on in conquered countries.

Very interesting to see forms such as those, and it sure improves the communicating of needed info to answer questions, however, sad to say, scam artists also like good information to do what they do. I'd suggest replacing the last several digits of any id numbers with X's for your safety. You can edit your post to reflect this bit of wisdom. Alan

Alan, I don't understand what you're talking about. I have this document here in my hands. Who's going to scam me out of what? Deleting digits as you suggest defeats identification. So, what's your point??? This message was edited by lenp66 on 1-10-26 @ 6:00 PM
