Topic: 1949 F1 bump stops

Gmarst    -- 12-24-2025 @ 7:36 AM
I’m restoring my 49 F1 and was looking at replacing the front and rear bump stops. I found the front ones on line but on the rear the ones on line don’t match anything I’m seeing on my truck. I can’t seem to find any information or pictures of what’s installed on my truck. Mine have an extended shaft it appears. What am I missing? Any information would be appreciated. Image attached.

Dennis Carpenter has the rubber axle bumpers you need in stock.

I have those rear rubber bumpers but they don't fit what I am seeing on my truck. In the extended shaft shown in the picture there is no hole to attach the bumper to unless I am missing something completely. I can find no pictures anywhere of this shaft on any other truck.

That looks like some sort of an overload accessory stop.

To me those shafts look lite the movable portion of a jack stand that someone has added to your vehicle.

Looks like a farmer added bump stop. I don't think that had anything to do with factory.
