Topic: 1949 F1 Fender Bolts

To remove the front fenders on my F1 I had to cut, grind and manhandle the bolts off as they were rusted so badly. Many of them rotated in the square bottom holes when attempting to remove them. What is the general consensus of putting them back on with new bolts? My concern is that with replacement bolts of the same style may rotate in the square holes again and not tighten.

I think the choice of bolts depends on how accurate you want to be on the restoration. If you don't want to use regular bolts. You can always use allen head bolts that are more flush with the inner panel. Easily obtainable at your local Ace Hardware store
