can anyone tell me if the numbers 21c are stamped on the frame of a 47 ford pickup they should be at the motor mount front and on the springs hangers in the back they me be at more places.or if the number is 79c for the 47 and 69c for the 46 thanks

Finding numbers on the frame is often a fruitless job. When the vehicles was built, the engine number was stamped on the transmission and, supposedly, on the frame. Over the years, engines and transmissions were swapped out, taking the numbers with them. The frame stamps were often omitted, or stamped so lightly that time and rust obliterated them. We often thought the missing numbers were probably either a "Monday or Friday" problem when the workers were either hung over or in a hurry to go home. Using a solvent such as "Super Clean" with a "no scratch" pad can sometimes help, but scr*ping or sanding usually results in the loss of faint numbers.
