As I get deeper into the restoration of my 1941 pickup, I've discovered a number of variations in the parts supplied for pickups as opposed to passenger cars. The defroster vents recently listed on this forum are a good example. The various vendors of reproduction parts can be inconsistent in their knowledge of passenger versus light commercial parts. Are there a few pickup specific/oriented parts and information resources that followers of the forum can recommend? It's a long term project and I'm sure many questions and parts searches are in the future. Thanks!

I have had pretty good luck with Dennis Carpenter in Concord, NC. Good online catalogue and there are some early Ford experts in house, if you can get to them.

My 41 is a 3 on the tree and the ignition switch is unique, had to make my own parts.

Thanks for the recommended sources. To date, I've had good luck with Third Gen. The rest are saved for comparison shopping and the inevitable hard-to-find next part.

Im doing a 41 right now also. If I can be of any help let me know-although the whole front clip looks like a 40 Standard car the only thing that interchanges is the grill. The chassis look the same also however the pickup or commercial car are slightly thicker gauge metal.windshield and garnish moldings interchange with car also- the rest is pretty much different…

I also recently purchased a 1941 pickup and have found that there is a wide disparity between sources and information. I will be following this thread with interest. My spare tire is mounted totally different than anything I've seen. It is simply bolted to an inner mounting bracket without anything else such as the usual "security bracket". Although it's not "factory" original, it does look clean.

For those of you with 40-41 pickups I recommend that you purchase the V-8 Club's 40-41 pickup book if you don't already have it. It's well worth the $10.
