Hi, I have an intake manifold I have to remove do to a vacuum leak. Do you use any sealant or grease on the new gasket? Also should I put anything on the bolts after I chase the threads? Thanks for your help.

Although it may not be totally necessary, I like to apply a thin coating of Permatex #2 to each side of the intake manifold gasket before installing it. This is to reduce the chances of having any vacuum leaks. No lube or sealant is required on the manifold mounting bolts.

I use white moly grease just enough to moisten the gasket so it tightens evenly
|
