Topic: Banjo rear rebuilder?

My 1945 half ton banjo rear failed and I'd like to talk with a shop within a days drive who could quote a range to rebuild it. I'm on the NY Pa border and willing to travel. Anyone know someone who knows what they are doing and reasonable? Thanks...

Welcome to the V8 Club Forum! Before Giving you my mind in your banjo, I’d like timi suggest to you that your handle, 24 bolt, doesn’t fit with your ‘45 half ton, unless of course, you’ve installed a newer engine. The original engine for your truck had studs, not bolts!
Now, about your diff, none of us knew jack about our banjos until we tore into them. You can do it yourself if you’re not bashful! There are books and likely also by now, Utube instructions. There are specialty tools, also, but it is a job that can be done with ordinary mechanics tools, and will be a job to make you proud!

Vern Tardel has a book on rebuilding banjo rear ends. I am getting ready to replace an axle on my 45 truck.
