Topic: Differences between the 1948 Mercury M47 & Ford F1

I own a 1948 Mercury M47 pickup. I have read a number of articles regarding the differences between the Mercury M47 and the Ford F1. Below is what I have learned:

The Mercury bumpers, gas cap, grille, headlight rings, parking light frame, and hood trim are all chrome. The Ford bumpers, gas cap and grille are painted. Not sure if the headlight and parking light trim, and the hood trim were chrome.

The Mercury parking lights are beneath the headlights. The Ford parking lights are in the grille.

The Mercury liftgate is embossed "Mercury". The Ford liftgate is embossed "Ford".

The Mercury is identified on opposing sides in the front of both doors, M47. The Ford is identified on opposing sides in the front of both doors, F1.

The Mercury trucks all came standard with a flathead 239ci V-8 engine. The Ford trucks came standard with an inline 6 cylinder engine. The V-8 was an option.

One other article I read stated that the Mercury cab was two inches taller than the Ford.

Another article stated that the cab interior was different, but did not indicate the difference.

I am asked the differences by others, and I want to make sure that I know them.

Anyone able to help?
